This chronicle of events regarding the MC Quad, as well as six other dogs, will perhaps help to answer why Monroe SPCA and The Buster Foundation, have advocated for and pursued justice so vigorously on behalf of all of the dogs, as well as why both organizations fight now for the lives of Monroe, Reilly, and Dusty; and will, without hesitation, continue to do so in the future.

Phoebe

On Sunday, October 9, 2011 Phoebe, a Daschund-mix, approximately 1 year of age, was struck by a vehicle on M-50 at approximately 5:00 am. A local resident heard Phoebe’s cries and contacted authorities to report the incident and get help for her. Local law enforcement authorities’ only plan of action to help the injured Phoebe, however, was to provide the contact information of her previous owners who as it turns out no longer wanted her. So by noon Phoebe had received no help from authorities, her owners were not coming to get her, and she was still lying huddled against a house waiting for help.

PB

Peanut Butter is friendly, but somewhat reserved, sensitive, intelligent, quick to please, and best suited for a home with a moderate to active lifestyle. She currently lives in an active household which includes five children ranging in ages ten to 18 and a male housemate pet companion, Semi, who she gets along with very well. She is house and crate trained, familiar with basic commands such as sit, stay, off, and she knows a trick or two such as "high-five." She is well-behaved in the home and on a leash, but can be easily distracted so she will need some positive reinforcement training.
