Our Mission
Monroe SPCA’s mission is to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals in Monroe County.

In fulfilling our mission we intend to be a leader in promoting humane values, preventing cruelty to animals, ending animal homelessness, and providing protection to and responsible placement of animals entrusted to the care of humans.

Our Goals
The organizational goals of Monroe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) serve as the framework for our strategic planning and continuity of the organization. Additionally, these goals serve as benchmarks and standards for measuring progress and adjusting approaches to achieve better results. Finally, they provide a basis from which the organization can determine its highest priority issues and ensure that donors’ dollars are used effectively and efficiently.

1.  Understand and broaden awareness about animal and community needs and our role in meeting those needs.

2.  Provide for and increase the welfare of animals by conducting advocacy, education, protection, prevention, support, and intervention programs and services.

3.  Achieve financial sustainability with a broad base of donors, funders, and income-producing activities.

4. Create and maintain comprehensive leadership and human resources management programs that support organizational growth and sustainability and promote community service, as well as individual growth.

In order to achieve our goals, and ultimately, our mission, we intend to build and develop a professional, inclusive, proactive, and transparent community animal welfare and protection organization responsive to the needs of animals and their care providers in Monroe County. We will maximize our influence, efficiency, and effectiveness through leadership, cooperation, legislation, outreach, and responsible use of resources.
